The commissioning.........

This Sunday was a special day for the team. After all the meetings and get togethers, it was time to get the blessing and commitment from the congregation. Allan spoke on behalf of the team, thanking everyone for the support we have received so far. This was our last day together here on P.E.I. Herman and Levina are leaving next week already, so they can reunite with the rest of their family, who are already there.
The rest of us will be leaving the week after.

We hope to connect with many of you right here on our blog. I hope to update often, to keep it interesting. You can leave your comments on the bottom. It is very easy. Just click on comment, then in the spot provided write your greeting, click checkmark under anonymous. Then you can preview your comment or just publish right away.
Thank you so much for all your support. And keep us in your prayers.

For the team, until next time.

The first fundraiser .............

The pancake breakfast was the first fundraiser.
That is where we had to start working as a team.

Here the team is making pancakes at the church . This was one of the fund raisers we did.

We are really looking foreward to this trip. To see where God will lead us , and what He will get us to do when we get there. I' sure it will be a real learning experience. And it is less then a month away.

In between all this, the team also helped Herman and Levina to get rid of about 4000 laying hens one evening. From what I heard, it was quite an experience. It was the talk of the next meeting. Sadly, no pictures available.

Last night we had a spagetti dinner fundraiser at Smitty's restaurant. About 175 people ate a very good dinner served by the team. It was a lot of fun. The interaction with the people was great. It went very well.

Smiles were very plentyfull. And so was
the spagetti. The staff was very helpfull,
and very patient as well. Thanks to all
the people involved.
It is amazing to see, how well and quickly

God has provided all our needs. Thanks be to God.

Solong, until next time. Randall

The Charlottetown Team, how it all started..........

All it takes sometimes is one person to get the ball rolling. I don't know who that was but the result is the same. We now have a team that is almost ready to go to the Dominican Republic. Thank you to a lot of people that made it possible for us to go. I won't start naming names, for fear that I will miss too many.

Our team members so far : Willem and Angela Van Nieuwenhuyzen, Herman and Levina Luymes, Martin Visser, Hans Hoving, Phil Reid, Alan and Stephen McIsaac, Randall and Pete Nieuwhof .

More updates will follow as time and events progress. To keep up to date with the happenings of the team you should check in often. We will try to post updates when we are in the D.R. as well. We will trust in the Lord to keep it all going.
